Make an Impact
Golden Opportunity (GO) provides free one-on-one tutoring and mentorship to Ithaca City School District students in grades 2–8. As a board member, you'll help advance GO's mission, strengthen programs, advocate for students, and support the organization's long-term sustainability through strategic planning, fundraising, tutor recruitment, and community engagement.
What We Ask
GO seeks individuals who share our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and student success. Board members attend one monthly board meeting and one committee meeting, respond to emails as needed, and contribute their skills in areas such as strategic planning, marketing, fundraising, recruitment, policy, or event planning.
Time & Financial Commitment
Time: Approximately 2–3 hours per month.
Giving: An annual financial contribution at a level that is meaningful and comfortable for you.
